Bluegrass and Italian food go great together!
The West Michigan Bluegrass Music Association has begun sponsoring a live band once per week at Pietro’s Italian Restaurant in Grand Rapids. Come on out every Thursday night through May, 2010, and hear one of four great local bands in an intimate setting. You can get some of west Michigan’s best Italian food and listen to good home grown music.

Pietro's Back Door Pizzeria
Pietro’s Back Door Pizzeria is a great place to eat and a great place to watch a band. They have a newly built stage area that’s a treat to play on and that offers the audience a great view of the band. You can get some of your favorite Italian fare on Pietro’s well thought out menu, including some great wine and spirits.
The event came together after local band Schlitz Creek played in the Backdoor Pizzeria at the tail end of 2009. The management loved the group and they drew a great crowd, so the management then approached the W.M.B.M.A. to see if we would be interested in booking other groups in and make the event a regular weekly event. We said sure!
Deadwood Bluegrass Band was our first official band on the roster
Deadwood Bluegrass Band
On Thursday, Feb. 4, we kicked off this new series by featuring the west Michigan group Deadwood Bluegrass Band. This is a great group staffed by some genuinely nice guys who play straight-ahead, classic bluegrass. Their harmonies are great, and they are known far and wide by the Michigan picking community.

We have four great bands on the roster for the Thursday night bluegrass events. They are:
