We meet the 3rd Saturday of every month
This coming Saturday, Jan. 16 2009, finds the W.M.B.M.A. meeting for their regular monthly membership meeting and jam session. This is a free event open to the general public, and if you are a picker/singer or even just a music fan we hope you’ll come by and check out our event.
There’s great local talent in them there hills
Well, alright, so west Michigan isn’t really known for having hills, but all the same you’ll find some pretty good local and regional pickers around these parts. I’ve been involved with the W.M.B.M.A. since day one, and I’ve seen some truly great talent come out of the west Michigan area.
This coming Saturday finds us meeting at Fricano’s Pizza on Alpine in Comstock Park, Michigan. We’ve asked a house band to be present to entertain the people who’ve come along to listen, and we’ll be inviting pickers to sing or pick with the house band, open-mic style. There will also be open jamming available. And, since this event is taking place at a restaurant, a really good one, you can get some great food this night. Fricano’s is known for a specialty they created: thin crust special recipe pizza. It’s a west Michigan tradition and you should come try some.
