A great place for bluegrass news
The internet is a truly amazing resource. It is seen as even more amazing by those of us who grew up during a time when there wasn’t an internet. I personally owe Al Gore a huge debt of thanks for inventing it. I get my news from the internet, I shop there, I communicate using it, I even earn a living using this tool. Thanks Al! No matter your passion, your hobby, your interest, your vocation, your fetish, your appetite, your revulsion…you can find it all on the internet. We bluegrasser’s can even count on getting almost any angle of information for our art form from the internet. (And I’d like to thank Al for the awareness of this horrible global warming as I sit here in Michigan trying to type with these gloves on. It’s what…25 degrees out right now? You mean…it’s supposed to be even colder?! Yikes. I’m thinking I can type this blog from Aruba in the future, right?)
Have you discovered The Bluegrass Blog yet?
We at the W.M.B.M.A. hope you’ll come visit our little corner of the web often, including this blog and our flagship website at www.wmbma.org. But for a bigger snapshot of what’s going on in the bluegrass world, have a look at The Bluegrass Blog by going to this adress: http://www.thebluegrassblog.com.
The Bluegrass Blog is run by John Lawless, the same genteman who runs the Accutab music lesson resource. I’m not sure of John’s complete resume, as far as what groups he’s been in and what he is known for, but I personally own some Accutab instructional DVD’s and I’ve seen John picking in them. He is a solid, professional banjo picker.
I tune in to The Bluegrass Blog on a regular basis. (Sheesh, can you tell my age? I’m still referring to “tuning in” to a website on the internet!) I find articles on bluegrass personalities, news & happenings, details of upcoming album releases, etc., at The Bluegrass Blog. It’s really a nicely done resource and worth a visit.
Have you been there? What do you think?
Perhaps I can entice you to share your thoughts of The Bluegrass Blog with our site visitors. Have you ever been there? Do you go there often? Do you wish the global warming would kick in just a little higher? We’d love to see your comments.
Don’t forget to join us this coming Saturday, Dec. 19, in Lowell, Mi. for the upcoming membership meeting and jam session of the W.M.B.M.A. Lots of jamming takes place. Come to listen or pick! Catch ya there.
